The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很多冷幽默，还挺有意思，最后的开放式结局，想要解读也各有趣味。
确实让人想到天鹅婉歌，形式与主题不错，拍的确实烂，不如天鹅挽歌完整精致。

4个字：无聊透顶！！！训练格斗介绍了那么多，最后都没用到！这部电影的导演和编剧都有问题，都在凑内容，因为拍不出东西了！结尾也是故弄玄虚！什么垃圾电影
这部恐怖和猎奇感都齐了，弗兰森斯坦那部分是加分项，竟然还加入了嘲讽白人至上主义的元素。
原来是大杂烩，每个短片都讲了一些内涵。还算有趣新颖，有两个故事也挺吓人。好久没有看画面这么糊的电影了，录像带风格真的太魔性了。
这种慢半拍的对话和动作还挺稀有的，最后结局确实是没看太明白。
荒诞中带着合理的黑色幽默。女权主义看前半段的时候应该不能忍，吐血住院和命不久矣都不能引起男朋友的半点关心，真他妈是“一个人吃饭睡觉到处走走停停”。而且她妈也对这个女儿也是似有若无，克隆人抢了自己的男人，还赢得自个老母亲的爱，最后还得支付克隆人的制造费用。这就简直太踏妈过分了，体制背后的无情无爱无人性刻画的淋漓尽致
故事一气呵成，看似简单易懂，背后的寓意和深度很多层面因人而异…细思极恐～

编剧很会写，就是小时候时常会想的恐怖的事情，如果有一个跟我长得一样的人替代了我的生活。北欧拍的东西，果然总是很压抑。最恐怖的是，身边人都想让你死。虽然女主的性格确实神经质得不讨人喜欢。
如果复制体活下来了，那她哭是因为继承了本地那善变的男友和烦死人的妈，继承了本体操蛋的生活。
芬兰电影固有的怪诞、超现实与深层的人性思考。冷色调处理符合一贯作风，虽然部分情节很迷惑（医生的误诊是认真的？亲情爱情真的可以如此淡漠？），但基于对芬兰电影过往史的了解，这也算不上什么「BUG」了。整体看并无亮点，也称不上烂片。电影本身其实没有太大问题，虽然「克隆人」的概念并不新鲜，但角度还算清奇，亦有可圈可点之处。（最后两个女孩对话一段可以处理的更好一些）
当克隆人取代了本体的一切，自己就成了被嫌弃松子的一生，是我杀了我……
看简介时候快速瞄了一眼，以为是科幻片。结果看了半天是伪科幻片，又是借由科幻名义来拍文艺剧情片？整部剧感觉到一种压抑，女主母亲以及男友态度，让人感到悲哀。后面学习决斗那部分，又有点搞笑。
高概念电影，但是导演调教演员的能力堪称弱智。而且节奏和剧情真的和设定相比弱太多，两分都嫌多。
竟然很黑金属！太闹了哈哈哈。还是Jesse Eisenberg练防身术更好看点
